James Chesters
Volunteering on Costa Rica

James Chesters, will be going on an expedition to Nicaragua and Costa Rica for three months in September.  He will be joining the registered charity Raleigh International and is committed to raising £3,000 in funds as a donation to help them continue doing their life changing work around the world.

Volunteers on the expedition will be working with rural communities in the very heart of Nicaragua and remote areas of Costa Rica, protecting one of the most bio-diverse places on the planet, and expedition projects can involve working on water and sanitation initiatives to bring clean water to rural communities, or constructing school buildings for indigenous communities.

He will be joining as a volunteer communications officer, and will be taking leave from my full time desk job for the unpaid position. "I am very lucky to have had many opportunities in my life -- now it is time to use my skills I to give back. I want to help rural and indigenous communities, and support Raleigh International who enable local communities and young people to work side by side to create positive change in the world, empowering them."
