Some children dread going back to school after the January school holidays, not because of school, but because they have to say “Nothing,” when asked what they got for Christmas - and then they get teased.  This is why, for the last five years, the Rotary Club of Osborne Park have been packing backpacks to send to children in a number of areas in Western Australia.
The Rotary Club of Osborne Park worked alongside volunteers in the Perth community to help make Christmas happen for children in Newman, Broome, Boddington and Kenwick.   The great outcome in Christmas 2025 was that 172 Children’s Christmas Backpacks and a few Mum and Bub packs, were received by some very happy recipients!  Thank YOU for your support!

Rotary cannot do this on their own! We had help with community donations; physical support at the three packing sessions; loading of the cars and trucks taking the backpacks to the different areas of WA, as well as unloading and distribution of the backpacks in the different regions.

Thank YOU for the donations packing and transportation:  The Cambridge Croquet Club; Earthwise Community Association; Bishop’s Transport; members of the Shenton Park Buy Nothing site and Mark Rigo, who drove pilot vehicles loaded with backpacks to the Pilbara.
