Greg Taylor and his wife, Ann, are members of the Meridian Giving Circle which annually gives awards to deserving charities selected by their members. This year Greg and Ann nominated the GrandCarers WA as one of the charities deserving support. Grandcarers WA was one of 3 charities short-listed and invited to do a presentation to the Meridian donors. Alan Hoffman, CEO of GrandCarers WA, did an excellent presentation and achieved an excellent result.

Happy Winners!
GrandCarers WA benefit from Meridian Giving Circle

In 2006, a handful of business leaders came together with a bold idea, to inspire everyday philanthropy through a giving circle. The Meridian Giving Circle is a model where donors aren’t just contributors but active decision-makers in where the funds should go. Greg Taylor, a Meridian donor and member of the Rotary Club of Osborne Park, nominated GrandCarers WA for the 2025 Giving Circle.

GrandCarers WA were shortlisted to be one of the 3 charities who would benefit from the Giving Circle. Each group had 7 minutes to present their case to the donors, who would then vote to the 1st award of $30,000, 2ndaward of $20,000 and the 3rd award of $10,000.

Alan Hoffman did a great visual and oral presentation of the work that GrandCarers WA does. He highlighted that $150 makes a huge difference to the lives of grandcarers who are supporting their grandchildren on a full-time basis. The audience could imagine what $30,000 could do.

When votes were counted the donors had selected GrandCarers WA for the 1st prize. There was a great whoop of joy from the 5 Osborne Park Rotarians and their partners who had come to support our wonderful grandcarers.

In addition to this wonderful award, one of the sponsors of the Meridian Giving Circle, Legion Brand Lab, had agreed to donate $40,000 of marketing and website design services to one of the selected charities. They also chose GrandCarers WA as the recipient of this award.

Our inaugural Advanced Education Awards, benefitting those grandchildren who will be graduating from primary to senior school at the end of 2025, is in its final stages of fundraising $35,000 and planning the implementation process.

Well done GrandCarers! YOU ROCK!!
