Last Saturday we held a Murder Mystery Event fundraiser to raise money for the children of Ukraine.
The evening was great fun, with lots of entertaining costumes worn. The script was well written with lots of humour, we all enjoyed laughing at the 60’s lingo. The evening was set in the Swinging Sixties and guests were requested to dress up accordingly.

During the evening, Mariana, who was born in Ukraine and lived there until February 2022 when she went on a holiday. While on a beautiful island enjoying the sunshine, the full-scale invasion broke out. Seeing the photos and videos of children, traumatized, maimed, stolen, dead... she knew as a mum she had no right to take her child back home. She stated that “it's hard for me to even think about all atrocities that Russians have been committing in my homeland”.

She went on to say that “many children are in orphanages now, as their parents were brutally killed by occupants. These kids need our help, and I am so thankful to each and every one of you that participated in this fundraising event.”
At the end of the evening, the organizers selected the best dressed members from each team and presented them with a certificate.

Our thanks go to Dawn Brodie, in association with the Perth Improvised Theatre Society, who organised the event. The event raised over $1,500 which will be sent to Rotary Clubs in Ukraine to support the children there.
