Our Rotary Club was contacted by No Limits Perth to see if we could help fulfill Tyler's last wish after he had been turned down by many charities and community organisations. Tyler, a young man of 25years, has a life-limiting illness and his last wish was to visit Melbourne with his mother, brother and his carer. His carer was only available in a limited window so we had very little time to raise the funds to help him.
Some children dread going back to school after the January school holidays, not because of school, but because they have to say “Nothing,” when asked what they got for Christmas - and then they get teased. This is why, for the last five years, the Rotary Club of Osborne Park have been packing backpacks to send to children in a number of areas in Western Australia.
The Rotary Club of Osborne Park worked alongside volunteers in the Perth community to help make Christmas happen for children in Newman, Broome, Boddington and Kenwick. The great outcome in Christmas 2025 was that 172 Children’s Christmas Backpacks and a few Mum and Bub packs, were received by some very happy recipients! Thank YOU for your support!
The Rotary Club of Osborne Park has installed two Peace Poles, one at South Padbury Primary School and one at Majella Catholic Primary School. Promotion of world understanding and peace is one of the objectives of Rotary International hence why Rotary clubs love to support the peace pole movement.
Peace Poles serve as monuments dedicated to peace, carrying the message in multiple languages to reflect the diversity of humanity. They act as reminders for individuals and communities to cultivate peace in their thoughts, words, and actions. The project aims to uplift human consciousness and foster a sense of global unity, transcending race, religion, and creed.
Rotary creates environments of peace
The Rotary International mission statement includes:
“As a humanitarian organization, peace is a cornerstone of our mission. We believe when people work to create peace in their communities, that change can have a global effect.” The Rotary Clubs of Osborne Park and Karrinyup have collaborated with the Returned Service League (RSL) Osborne Park subbranch for the last 4 years to implement Rotary International’s mission statement.
11am on the 11th day of the 11 month is the anniversary of the Armistice Day and the end of World War I. Remembrance Day is an important time to reflect on World Peace and to remember family members and friends who have been involved in conflicts around the world and the sacrifices they have made to create peace.

Greg Taylor and his wife, Ann, are members of the Meridian Giving Circle which annually gives awards to deserving charities selected by their members. This year Greg and Ann nominated the GrandCarers WA as one of the charities deserving support. Grandcarers WA was one of 3 charities short-listed and invited to do a presentation to the Meridian donors. Alan Hoffman, CEO of GrandCarers WA, did an excellent presentation and achieved an excellent result.
